Susie O'Neill signs as ambassador for Artisan Aesthetic Clinics

Australian swimming legend Susie O’Neill is taking on a new role, signing on as an ambassador for Vita Group’s premium medical aesthetics brand Artisan Aesthetic Clinics.

The two-time Olympic gold medallist and Nova 106.9FM Breakfast co-host will front Artisan and its comprehensive range of treatments to repair sun damage and pigmentation –something she’s all too familiar with after years of swimming and an active lifestyle.

“I’ve always been good at looking after my body by keeping fit and active, but I never realised just how important it was to also look after your skin,” said Susie. “While I love the outdoors, unfortunately sun damage has taken its toll and I’ve started to notice a few lines and marks that I wish weren’t there.”

Her first real foray into medical grade skincare and cosmetic treatments, Susie said it was noticing the first signs of ageing that triggered her to seek professional help.

“As you get older, you want to hold on to your looks as much as you can,” she said. “For me, that meant looking for a way I could maintain my healthy skin.”

Having previously only ever had the odd facial, Susie said she was initially a little daunted going into an aesthetic clinic but the team at Artisan quickly put her at ease.

“Everyone was so friendly and down to earth, and I liked that they were all totally relatable,” she said. “One of my biggest concerns was feeling out of place, but while everyone of course had great skin, they weren’t overdone or completely perfect looking.”

Medical experience was also key. Susie wanted to be sure that her skin was in highly skilled hands who had years of training and wouldn’t rush her in and out.

“The fact that there are doctors in Artisan’s clinics really appealed,” she said. “When you’re investing in something as important as your skin, you want to make sure that you’re going to be in good hands. I know first-hand how much dedication and training is required to be a doctor, so that really helped put my mind at ease.”

Chief Executive Officer, Maxine Horne said she was thrilled to welcome Susie to Artisan which is all about helping clients find what makes them feel beautiful and confident.

“Susie is a great fit for our Artisan brand,” she said. “She’s naturally beautiful and such a strong role model for many Australians. She’ll be a great face for our brand which is all about empowering people to take time for themselves to look and feel their confident best.”
