Vita Group's Telstra Business Centres transition to Telstra Business Technology Centres
As announced on 17 August 2018, Vita Group (ASX:VTG) has transitioned its Telstra Business Centre channel (TBC) to Telstra Business Technology Centres (TBTCs) under Telstra’s updated model for the small-to-medium business market. The new model will see all traditional small business customers (i.e. customers with one to 10 employees) serviced from Vita's larger network of Telstra retail stores (which currently stands at 104 stores) by specialist business consultants.
Vita's transition to TBTCs commenced in September 2018 with a reduction in the number number of points of presence in its business informations and communications technology (ICT) channel from 23 TBCs to four: Telstra Business Centres Brisbane North, Townsville, Liverpool and Newcastle. The group has already begun to transition its four TBCs to the new TBTC format, opening its first TBTC concept centre in Townsville in February 2019.
Vita’s TBTC network will consist of larger format centres, operating across four significantly expanded territories: North Queensland, Brisbane City, New South Wales Central Coast and Sydney South, representing a higher proportion of the market than previously.
Going forwards, ‘Business Plus’ customers who have more than ten employees and/or more complex information and communications technology (ICT) requirements will be serviced in the new format TBTCs which offer whole of business solutions including connectivity, cloud applications and infrastructure, security, as well as professional and managed services.
The new TBTC model will enable Vita to access larger and more profitable customers whilst reducing cost to serve through operating fewer points of presence in key territories where it has prior experience and an established customer base. Each territory is expected to service more than 5,000 business plus customers and will also provide options for a branded Telstra experience within other enterprise customer segments.
In designing the new technology centre in Townsville, Vita and Telstra have re-invented the role of the physical point of presence by creating a space that brings to life, all of the elements that make up the new channel. It is an environment where teams, customers and partners can connect, collaborate and share ideas and expert advice on cloud software services, cloud backup, automation, machine learning, big data, and much more.
Vita Group currently operates more than 120 points of presence: 104 Telstra retail stores, four Telstra Business Centres, one Telstra Business Technology Centre, 11 non-invasive medical aesthetic clinics including Artisan Aesthetic Clinics, and two SQDAthletica stores. The group also operates the brands Vita Enterprise Solutions and Sprout accessories.
